MatroxX2 vs. dpsReality (Disappointed to when find out)
by nitron on Mar 15, 2007 at 7:09:45 am

I got a 5 years old dpsReality card and just upgrade to X2 two days ago. Right away I do not like the out of the X2. The image produced by the X2 somewhat soft or blur like. When add many other realtime fx, the video become unsharp. I'm talking about capturing at 16mps. On the other hand dpsReality card capture at 15mbs was way sharper than the X2. Not only the dps can capture at 15mbs but it also capture an SD in Uncompress also. Yes, X2 provide many realtime shit but sacrificing clearity, I don't think so. Oh year, export SD from timeline to Mpeg2 was the worst from X2. I'm talking about a 30s clip takes over a minute where as dpsReality take exactly 30s and SHARP imagery!

The funny thing is, when viewing the video produce by the X2 by itself, it look stuning good! But if you put the same clip capture from the dpsReality side by side to the X2, Oh boy, the X2 got to go.

I'm doing wedding every weekends and my clients need clear picture not realtime unclear video. I am so disappointed by the X2. The reality card is now cost as much as the X2. I will return the X2 for another dpsReality.

Not only that, the X2 work unstable with the Fusion5 from eyeon where as dpsReality work like a brother.

Matrox send me the X2 SD- Oh boy, why do I need it when SD dpsReality get sharper image.

Now I know what the slogin from DPS "Realtime, Smarter, and Sharper" means. X2 can't compete when come to sharper image quality.

Anyways, these are some of my cents.

Nit.
