4:1:1 for CG animation files

I'm at a toss-up, because the RT.X100 supports Lightwave and (unofficially) Digital Fusion for NTSC Framebuffer support, but what are the remifications of 4:1:1 for CG related work? If I understand correctly, 4:1:1 isn't such a big deal with most DV source footage, but I'm wondering if I import an image sequencer of rendered frame from Lightwave and export to tape via an RT.X100 am I going to have artifacts due to 4:1:1? The RT.X100 looks like a great product, but I'm not sure if it's right for someone like myself, or if I'm better suited with a Decklink SD, which does have AE, PPro, Photoshop, and Encore support, but lacks Lightwave and DF support. Not sure what to do. (?)
Anyone care to comment?
Regards,
Mark
