With all due respect to Apple and Adobe, the editing platforms of FCP and CS3 are glorified hobbiest toys when compared to the very editor centric approach of Edit*. It was the best NLE from a pure cutting perspective, period.

It died an early death due to the very cynical corporate gyrations of very typically greedy and stock value minded senior executives.

It is dead. may it rest in peace. If FCP and/or CS3 ever grow up and implement the pure elegance of the editing paradigm I will be very happy. I'm not holding my breath.
