Maybe it is my fault

I have a strange history with editing products. In 1983 I bought my first 3/4" tape to tape Convergence editor. An ECS 90. Then in 1987 moved up to the beautiful 195, a three-machine editor. And back then Convergence was the world's largest editing manufacturer.
We know what happened to them.
Then in 1992 I moved on to Lon McQuillin's excellent EditMaster from Comprehensive Video. That was a really good and inexpensive linear editor. You could always get Lon on the phone to help solve a problem. And I still have the system's parts in boxes in the basement.
We know what happened there.
In 1998 I fell in love with Discreet Edit*. What a great development of the DVision product. We liked Discreet so much we bought some stock.
We know what happened to Edit*. But hey, the stock, now AutoDesk, is doing quite well! And the Edit* parts are in the basement.
So last year we moved on to an Avid system. We liked it so much we bought some stock........
Have I killed off another company? I hope not. I'm still coming to terms with Avid.
Maybe I can get the manufacturers of editing software and hardware to pay me not to buy their products!
