It's been a madhouse here. The real estate market in California may be down for the count, but state government here in Sacratomato continues to gush money, and I've been taking full advantage. We also bought a couple of acres on a mountain down in Panama in 2005 and I've been down there for weeks at a time hiring an architect, builder, and now getting ready to oversee construction.
During the fall the past two seasons, I've been freelance-posting at the PBS station here in town, KVIE, which produces America's Heartland, an HD series which takes an (uncritical, mostly) look at agriculture in the US. I had to pass on this season, just no time. It was good to work on Media 100 HD, 844, and FCP, just to expand my own decision-making base. Last year they shot some stories using P2 cards, and that was interesting, and not usually in a good sense.
Hope to make the next NAB and catch up with all the old crew and maybe make a buying choice. Adobe seems to be making it easier for me, and not in their favor, either.
