Well, that's a problem, right there. Consumer displays do not have a blue only button, so calibrating to color bars is not so simple.

Again, a consumer display will fall short. If you're checking focus, you'll want something with at least 1280x720 resolution. Finding a small consumer display under 13 inches with that resolution will be tough. OTOH, there are some reasonably priced 5-7 inch models from Marshal & Ikan that are adequate for focus & composition.
