DOLBY E on HDCAM channels?
by Jimmy Brunger on Jul 30, 2009 at 10:28:43 am

Hi all,

Hoping someone can clarify something...we have a debate running about the 'standard' channel order for a Dolby E stream delivered as data tracks on a HDCAM tape.

I am being told the defacto standard is (1-6) L,R,C,LFE,Ls,Rs.

However I have a facility saying L,C,R,Ls,Rs,LFE is a recognised standard for broadcast.

Can anyone confirm the latter statement?

(I know - we should just ask the broadcaster for specific tech specs, but we did that and got nothing back, so this is a retrospective query)

Cheers,
Jim.
