susana sanzcapture problem?
by on Apr 17, 2009 at 9:25:30 am

"Hi,

after shooting with the HDW 750P SONY camera we have found some
problems when we started to edit the footage.

Clips were captured from a MacBook Pro, with the Matrox MXO2, using
the codec Apple Pro Res 422HQ, 10 bits, 4:2:2 full raster.

On importing the clips to FinalCutPro into a sequence, we noticed the
image and audio were out of sync. We were watching , for instance,
take #1 and listening take #3, but after rendering the sequnce, we
realised that the image was definitely take #3.

On the other hand, once the render was done, the motion was not
entirely smooth and fluent. Every 10-15 frames approximately, we
noticed that some frames were duplicated instead of showing different
ones.

So, here it goes the question:

The format we have shot on is HDCAM, which is a 8 bits, 3:1:1
format, and as we have captured the footage in 10 bits, 4:2:2, could
it be the reason why we are having these problems??

Any other ideas?

Thank you very much, I hope someone can help us to solve this.

susana
