I should point out that it's quite easy to run into problems in the other direction as well. That is, doing all of post on CRT's, then discovering on broadcast that there are interlace issues (usually due to broken 2:3 cadence) that show up on progressive-scan displays. (I know of some rather large entities that have had issues with this.) In fact, I've seen a number of other issues (color and gamma-related) that have resulted from no one in post ever looking at the footage on a range of displays until it was too late. For this reason, I like to have a cheapish consumer display or two available in the color correction suite (that I normally leave switched off) to spot check things periodically to make sure there isn't something hiding in the signal that only shows up on a badly set up plasma or LCD.
