Mr Zelin,
I am very insulted, I am insulted that you think I would be insulted at your recommendation. Just kiding
I am not the least bit insulted.
Actually I think it is pretty darn good advice. I am only partly a hot head that jumps in head first to water that is over my head, I still listen to the those like you that know loads more then I do:)
One thing I do have going for me is my step-father is a retired broadcast engineer. It is on my agenda for today to talk with him about the HD camera options and your advice. I have a feeling that he will agree with you about hiring a crew member to run the camera.
We are shooting on a controlled set, a conference room. So I am thinking that some of the newer features of the newer HD camera are over kill. In the end I know I am going to have much better footage renting the 10-year-old camera and a crew member rather then me try to run the more expensive camera. The question remains, though, is there going to be a noticeable difference between the footage given someone that is familiar with the HD camera is operating it?
You asked what was going to happen was the footage was captured. I am going to do the editing myself with Adobe Premiere CS4. I know I need a very beefy machine, more so then what I have right now, so that cost is being worked into the quote I am putting together.
Also, once the crew member has captured all the footage onto tape, how exactly does the footage get onto a hard drive for me to start editing it in Adobe Premiere?
Sam
P.S. I do very much appreciate your help!
