One interesting development - Zacuto is already offering kits for this camera.
I love the idea of a full frame 35mm still camera sensor and Canon prime lenses. Superb depth of field characteristics. Also, the sensor has enough pixels to potentially offer film camera style viewfinders, with the image rectangle falling well inside the viewfinder field of view.
One thing I dislike is auto focus. More precisely, I hate poor viewfinders, reliance on bogus focus confirmation schemes, short throw helical threading on lenses, and general relegation of manual focus to secondary status.
The Canon EOS 5D Mk II makes a real case for a high resolution sensor in a relatively low resolution application (HD video is low res in comparison to a 22 megapixel still camera). That is, the ability to instantly zoom the electronic viewfinder for precision manual focus.
Another development on the manual focus front: Zeiss is apparently going to market a line of manual focus lenses in the Canon EOS mount.
