Being an old film guy, 10 minute loads are not unworkable, though you have to be concerned about robustness of the card slot in heavy use.

Also, I'm comfortable with double system sound. I'm thinking Sound Devices 744T, not BeachTek. The camera audio could be used as a garbage track. Back to a clap slate and no time code.

Canon's spec on memory:
"CF Card Type I and II, UDMA-compliant CF cards"

B&H lists the SanDisk 16GB Extreme IV UDMA CompactFlash Card "in stock" at $234.95. Will this not work?

This camera appears to be a skunkworks proof of concept effort by Canon's SLR design staff. Imagine what might happen if the video half of Canon's corporate brain takes the sensor and lens mount from this camera and repackages the whole thing as a true pro-grade video product! Maybe using SxS cards. RED could quickly become irrelevent (sad but true).
