Drives for HD edit

Drives for HD edit

I'm setting up a system for HD editing of doc series. 2.8HHz MacPro 8-core, FCP. I want to make sure my internal drives are fast enough to handle HD. Is 7200 fast enough or do I need to go nuclear?
