The Installation Manual that came with the machine should have some of this info, somewhere in "1-11. System Setting."
But if not, this info will be in the Maintenance Manual Volume 1.
I've found that Sony always seems to put the frequency change information (play back and recording speeds) in the first volume of the particular machine's Maintenance Manual. These maintenance Volumes (the SRW-5500 has three of them) are always extra.
