HD closed captioning dubs

I have an HDW-500 that cannot (it is hardware incapable) record VANC metadata (HD closed captioning). I'm curious though, if I use the deck as a player and dub it to a deck that can record metadata, will the HDW-500 strip it out on playback or will the dub contain all of the closed captioning?
