Well, I figured everything out. Just wanted to post my procedure just in case anyone else ever needs it.
1. The Deck
Shift+Diagnostic
Shift+F8
F9
F9
That gets you so you can change the format of the machine. You want 1080, interlaced, 29.97 (yes, you are working in 59.94i, but that is the button you push)
Exec
Exec
Then you pull the HD reference from the back of the machine.
2. FCP and Kona
In FCP change the easy setup to 1080i 29.97 Uncompressed 8-Bit. (10-bit didn't work for some reason)
In KONA CONTROL PANEL, change reference to VIDEO IN.
