3D is very much alive and not as expensive as you may think or may be led to believe. There are tools out there, you just have to dig.

U2 3D was done by 3ality in Burbank. They used a RaveHD among other tools so we got to see lots of this footage before it ever left the studio and I to was blown away and knew the power that "the new 3D" would have if it could be put in the right venue. The sports stuff (football) was just as mind blowing if not more.

There are differnet methods for doing 3D, which I am by no means an expert on but have seen lots of stuff from them. Done right they can all achieve excellent results. This cat is getting skinned many ways....

I don't see the consumer stuff taking off for some time. Mads is correct people are not going to run out and replace that new HD TV they just bought, however sports fans are fanatics and once they see this stuff don't be surprised how fast they run to Circuit City....
