Hey Flashelk.

I don't know FCP/Kona that well. However, if you have the drives and the data through-put then there should be nothing stopping you going straight to either a 8 Bit or 10 Bit 4:2:2 HD Codec - anything above that, is likely to be an overkill that will add time to your On-Line.

By skipping the "off-line" quality edit and not having to do an auto-conform, your life becomes much easier - again, provided that your system can deal with the data.
