If you are reffering to Thompson Venom then this for sure does NOT record dpx frames - I had long discussion about that in IBC and the problem with dpx is too much overhead so the data is recorded as binary raw data and the only way to get it out from the venom back is to play it back over single or dual lane SDI - so I would need use some sort of SDI signal.
I have so far used blackmagic products for HD io and this product does not support 1080 60p (as of now - maybe in the future) so even if I recorde to srw-1 what systems are capable of ingesting the material?
