breakout box output

Hello,
Let me start by saying I am a newbie at this, so I need your technical advice.
I have just wrapped an avid liquid project and after exporting to DVD, all effects are distorted/green. I have now figured out it is because of my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT).
Though, I still need to get the project to a DVD dub. I thought I could use a DVD Recorder via the breakout box. The only problem is, I can't get the Liquid signal to the DVR. When I hook a camera up via the breakout box, it works fine and communicates with the DVR. How can i get the Project to "output" to the DVR via the breakout box? I thought it could be as simple as plugging in to the CVBS Video out on the BB and connecting to the DVR and playing the project and it would record it.
What am I doing wrong and is this even possible?
Thanks for any help!
