You always want the source going straight to the capture component. Though to be honest, using an active splitter, you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, as that's in ms, less than or equal to 1fps.

I thought you were using a XBox as your source, as I believe, that's capped at 30 fps. If so, you're more than good to go.
