Apple Color - Decklink HD Extreme - HD Monitor
by Shaun Harrison on Jul 3, 2009 at 12:20:01 pm

Hi,

I know these questions have be bounced around a lot, but I can never find an answer so hopefully my circumstances can narrow the selection to one product... maybe.

So, I'm grading 2K RED footage in Apple Color bound for Blu-ray finish. I have a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme card in my Mac Pro, therefore have HD-SDI, if that is the best for this sort of thing.

What monitor do I need to hire for accurate colour grading? I would like a monitor around the 20" size but with the hope of hiring at £50 ($82USD) a day.

Any help or information would be greatly received. I have been recommended the DreamColor, but that would be HDMI and there are mixed reviews whether it's ideal for critical colour grading, plus I think I would have to buy one as I can't find anyone who hires it!

Thanks in advance for your help.
Shaun Harrison
