Varicam capture issue
by Chris Bell on May 5, 2009 at 5:15:45 am

Capturing off-speed material shot on my Panasonic Varicam. Using my Blackmagic Decklink Extreme card to capture 40p and 60p material at 23.98 fps. The footage shot at 40p captured without issue, however the 60p material is giving me trouble. I keep getting a time code break warning. I can only get about 10 seconds of material to capture.

My capture preset is Pro Res HQ, 23.98 fps. Using high speed drives, 8 core Mac Pro.

Advice welcome.

PS: any other advice for capturing off speed Varicam via HD SDI is greatly appreciated. I am accustomed to capturing via firewire, but ProRes looks so much better.
