Why not move up to the HMC150 instead? That's in a similar price range as a new DVX100 and gets you up to full high-definition and native 16:9 without any major compromises or having to deal with the optical issues of an anamorphic adapter. The DVX100 is a great camera but if you're going to start over again, move up to the next generation.
