For true slow-motion you would want to get your hands on a camera that actually records more than 24p or 60i frames per second. Otherwise you're essentially asking your editing program to create fake frames through interpolation. Most NLE's frankly suck at this no matter what settings you use on your camera. Results just look bad...

So either you get an HVX200, EX1, RED, VariCam Phantom or a film camera capable of shooting high speed or you pony up for a special plug-in that fakes the frames well. Such as Twixtor:
