I know it's a bit confusing, but, If you shoot 720p/30, you can edit in 720p/30 or 60. 30 Saves space while digitizing too. If shooting at 1080i/30p you have 2 choice for editing. DVCProHD1080i/30p or 60i.

Personally, I've liked shooting at 720p/30 and 720p/24 instead of 1080i and doing any up-conversion after editing. Not that I've noticed any artifacting in camera, but editing is easier and saves space.

Oh, remember to set the camera shutter to 1/2 while shooting 30p.
