If you are shooting at 720p/59.94 30fps, you can choose to edit at either DVCProHD720/30 or 60. I edit at 720p/30 all the time. And on 1080i projects, you would never set it to 1080i/25p as that is a PAL format. You would only edit at DVCPro1080i/60.

Those are the easy FW native formats, some editors work in different formats like ProRes and import footage thru HD-SDI. But, with Firewire, the DVCProHD codecs look pretty nice.
