Playing out 24p(over60hz) footage as 24p(over59.98hz) using AJ-HD1400

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had an insight into a way im thinking of solving a problem.
I got DVCPROHD tapes shot at 24p (not 23.97) on the 60hz setting on the camera.
I notice that with FCP it doesn't have a true 720/24p project setup for DVCPRO HD. The kona card setups are only 720/23.97.
I was wondering what would happen if i played my 24p/60hz tapes with the AJ-HD1400 deck set to 24p/59.98hz. Would the footage come out of the deck at all and if it did would it be in a correct format to edit with in FCP.
With this workfloe i appreciated the BWF recording on the set will drift sync and need to be re-timed by the sound guys but my problem at the moment is getting the footage into FCP (Or even Avid as I have access to both systems)
Im based in the UK and would appreciated any advice or alternative to this workflow im thinking about
Best Regards,
Ian Grey
