This is a list of various emails I have received in regards to Rave functionality. These are the short answers. Detailed ones can be found in the Rave FAQ at
http://www.spectsoft.com/RaveManual-FAQTechnical.html
Can material recorded into Rave be played back at other frame rates?
yes
With the standard raid 5 array, does Rave support simultaneous play and record?
yes
Can Rave simultaneously playback the same material at the same time on two outputs?
yes
Are proxies a standard file type that can be used for other purposes?
yes
Is there a standard for storing DPX metadata?
yes
What items does Rave currently store in the DPX metadata?
Timecode, FPS, scene & take, Keycode.
(Metadata packed in the user space, such as audio is not a SMPTE standard but is common. Additional metadata follows this same path. Rave is only limited by how much can be packed here, not what information can be packed) Rave also supports a native database that all metadata is stored in to provide an endless resource for as much metadata as possible.
Does Rave support the record and playback of Dolby E?
yes
Is there any color space conversion in Rave?
Only if one chooses
Cheers,
Ramona
