OK I better had take a step back...

I have some MiniDV footage which I want to convert to the highest quality in the smallest file that will stream in the most efficient way. I am planning to put this on S3. What format do you recommend and how should I produce it. Also I guess I will be using an open source player like JWPlayer.

I have another project which uses stock HD footage which will need converting as well. Also I plan to shoot my own soon.
