did you change the record mode to dv as well? You have to change to dv on the camera menu as well as the playback menu. I don't know why this is so but it just is. Put the switch in camera mode and change the record signal to dv. Then switch to the vtr mode and change the playback to dv . Then plug in the firewire and then the firewire to the computer. If it still doesn't work, try to take out the battery and plug it back in. Hope this helps
