should we mix the version for web at a higher db in FCP?
should we run a normalization or other pass in FCP prior to output?
Yes.
Yes.
You'll want peaks somewhere between -3 and -0.5db. Perhaps the compression house has a reccomendation for how they'd like to see it. I'd ship them a file with audio normalized to -0.5 and see how they like it.
(this is assuming that your audio tracks are otherwise mixed nicely with appropriate noise levels, eq & dynamics)
