I believe if you use an index file (.asx, .wvx) the player properties will show the location of the index file, not the wmv.

However, I'm unable to immediately confirm that right now because most of my embedded players are protected by scripts which prevent right clicking. You can find such scripts on the javascript archives. This only works in a player embedded in a web page which is a popup window with no menu or toolbars. And lets face it - short of DRM running on WM server there isn't perfect protection available, you merely cut down on casual downloading.
