How to move a P2 AVC intra project from AVID to FCP?
This is a TV series project with hundreds of hours of material.
We need to get the material into our FCP suite to generate the files for color correction and final online in Color/FCP.
Description of workflow.
1 The material was shot on AVC-intra P2 cards.
2 The cards copied on to harddrives and backed up
3 The harddrives were sent to the editing fascility who logged and transcoded all material to Offline files on their Unity server
4 Export AAF from Avid, import to FCP with Automatic duck
5 Reconnect to the source files or transcode the needed material to ProresHQ and reconnect to those
Number 5 is where we got a problem. I have been checking out MXF4Mac they are going to add support for AVC-intra soon. In that case we could connect to a consolidated AAF with the sourcefiles copied and linked. Or connect to the original sourcefiles from the cards. Maybe that could work?
Another one is to create some kind of list that "Log and Transfer" in FCP can understand and transcode the needed files in "Log and Transfer".
Does anyone have a solution for this?
