Compression/ Quality loss with OMF export?

I just gave my audio editor an OMF file of my short movie but he refused to use it as he claimed he could notice compression and quality loss on the OMF as compared to the original audio. Honestly, I don't hear it. I'm thinking of buying Pro Export FCP, but obviously not if the audio takes a quality hit in the process.
So, does exporting your audio to OMF cause any kind of quality loss or compression? Thanks ahead of time for any help!
