New Technology Unveiled for World’s Leading Rendering Engine

LightWorks SE
LightWorks Studio Edition is a new approach to integrated rendering. It draws on a wealth of rendering development and implementation experience, to bring you the easiest to use toolkit ever, whilst giving you access to some of the most powerful rendering available in the market today. LightWorks will be announcing the latest version of SE, V2.0, which includes new functionality for enhanced exterior and interior rendering performance.
LightWorks 7.9
Siggraph 2008 sees the announcement of the 7.9 LightWorks release, including these key features:
- Ambient Occlusion – adds intelligent predictable ambient light to images for greater depth and realism.
- New Complex Reflectance Shaders - targeted at the generation of a wider range of realistic material effects; new colour and reflectance shaders including Glossy Reflections and Frosted Glass, Enhanced Car Paint, Plastics and Metallic effects.
- CgFX - Extends the number of effects in real-time rendering with external CgFX materials
- Specular Final Gather - refined to concentrate work dependent on the properties of a material: the smoother the surface, the less work will be spent calculating specular Final Gather results, which gives faster image rendering.
LightWorks will also be demonstrating its new Progressive Rendering technology, which is currently in development.

In addition to the wide-ranging technical developments and enhancements to its product set, LightWorks will also be unveiling a new look LightWork Design website at Siggraph.
