News: Widget Post Names Karen White to Top Sales Post

(July 8, 2008) Widget Post, the largest independently-owed audio post production company in Los Angeles, has hired Karen White as Vice President of Sales. White brings more than 20 years of experience in post production to her new role and most recently served as Vice President of Sales at Pacific Soundwaves, Burbank.

She will lead the sales effort for Widget Post’s world class audio facilities in Culver City and Hollywood and seek to expand its business in film and television.

“Karen is a widely respected professional and, already, her numerous contacts and relationships have made a positive impact for Widget,” said Widget Post CEO Anne-Marie Slack. “She has the experience and the knowledge to raise our profile and let more people know about the unique blend of talent and resources that we offer.”

Widget Post offers sound editing, re-recording, Foley and ADR services. It also operates one of the industry’s largest audio restoration operations. It currently provides audio post services for the television series Breaking Bad for AMC, Numb3rs for CBS and Bones for Recent film projects include Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D, American Inquisition, Mirrors and the Rob Zombie-directed Halloween.

In addition to her stint at Pacific Soundwaves, White has held senior sales posts with Novastar, Encore Hollywood and Complete Post. A native of Boston, she began her career in the recording industry with ABC Records and later worked in A&R for Warner Bros. Records.

White said that she was impressed with the impressive growth Widget has experienced since its founding in 2001 and believes that it is poised for even greater success. “I love the fact that the owners of the company have worked in the business as editors and technicians.
