(Santa Monica, California--March 18, 2008) Mixer Zac Fisher of POP Sound was called on by ad agency Wieden & Kennedy/Portland to complete the final mix for two new, humorous CareerBuilder.com spots "Self-Help Yourself" and "Help You Help You."
Touting the CareerBuilder motto: "Do What Makes You Happy," the commercials began airing last month, and will continue to air nationwide.
In "Self-Help Yourself," as his morning alarm clock rings, an uninspired man lays in bed and sluggishly says: "Oh, I can't do this anymore . . .." His wife (himself dressed in woman's clothes) tries to console him by saying, "I wish you could just quit that job." Walking to work, he comes across the scene of a car wreck. Pulling an injured child from the wreckage, a paramedic (again himself, but this time in a blonde wig) exclaims: "Oh gosh, my job is so rewarding!" On the elevator a woman (himself again) chats on a cell phone telling her friend, "Girlfriend, I will quit that dead-end job for you!" Lastly, a co-worker (the man yet again, but this time dressed as a blonde pregnant woman) tells him: "Do what makes you happy, Larry. You deserve better." Her advice is emphasized with a slap upside the head. The humorous spot ends with "Start Building" and the CareerBuilder.com logo.
"Help You, Help You" follows a similar storyline as a middle-aged man goes into his job, picks himself up and carries himself out the door, while a confused co-worker looks on. Both commercials inspire American workers to seize the day and not stay in jobs that make them unhappy and unfulfilled. CareerBuilder.com is the first step to finding a new career.
