(LOS ANGELES, CA - October 28, 2007) Weynand Training is pleased to announce that this November 16-18 they are sponsoring a three day intensive, “Introduction to Shake 4.1,” presented by digital compositing guru, Steve Wright.
This three day course offers a rare opportunity to get an introduction to Apple’s Shake 4.1 with a senior industry veteran that literally wrote the book on digital compositing – “Digital Compositing for Film and Video” (available on Amazon.com:
www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/024080760X/wwwswdfxcom-20). Each student will be working with a wide array of real-world feature film and HiDef video images to learn how Shake is used to composite visual effects shots in major studios. Apple computers with the Shake software are provided and the student keeps a DVD with all of the course material and images.
Steve will guide the class through the basics of Shake, starting with navigating the Shake GUI, how to build and edit compositing node trees, create real-time animation previews, and render to disk. The subject then turns to compositing CGI with live action, how to pull keys for bluescreen compositing, and all with photorealistic color correction. Next is 2D and 3D keyframe animation, the art of motion tracking, and finishing up with warping and morphing. It will be a spectacular tour of Shake’s powerful visual effects compositing capabilities. Click here to visit the course website:

Shake is used by major visual effects production studios like Weta Digital for blockbuster features like “Lord of the Rings” and “King Kong”. It is also widely supported with third-party plug-ins from Pixel Farm, The Foundry, and GenArts, to name just a few. Now that Apple has slashed the price of Shake to just $499 you can afford to step up from Adobe After Effects to this world-class visual effects compositing program. With Shake’s outstanding reputation as a state-of-the-art node based compositor that is used in major feature films it offers a firm foundation for digital artists wishing to enter the exciting field of visual effects.
