Here's a chart which shows you the sustained data rate needed from your array to successfully play various codecs. And here's an app from AJA that will measure the data rate of whatever drive you point it at....

Up until a version (or so) ago, Flash Player would only play flv codecs. Then Adobe incorporated the h.264 codec and the flv extension could be attached to those files (change .mov to .flv). So now, you can use Compressor...
