First off, they need to export an XML, version 4....it defaults to version 5. Second, you need to go FILE>IMPORT>XML. Then FCP knows it is trying to import an XML data file.

IN the Browser, Select ALL (CMD-A). Then go the the FILE menu and choose EXPORT>XML. Choose version 4. In FCP 6, Import that XML.

Export your movie as a self contained QT file. Reimport that. Make a new sequence that is DV50, or ProRes SD. Drop the file into that, adjust the center (might need to unsqueeze it too, do that...

The only version of FCP that works with Snow Leopard in terms of inputting P2 is 6.0.6. Others have noted this issue and said that going to 6.0.6 fixed it for them. Or getting the FCP 7 upgrade...

Speed changes in FCP have always had issues, especially with media manager. In FCP 6 and earlier, I would always scroll through the cut to see if there were any speed changes, then render those out as self contained...

I would dump all of the renders. Highlight all of your footage, then pres CONTROL-B to deactivate the clips, the Control-B to reactivate them. This will dump all the renders.

FCP...any of the Final Cut Suite...does not work with two graphics cards. They CAN...but there will be issues, and definately if you use FX Plug plugins in FCP that utilize the graphics card for more RT performance, and Motion...

This option only works with formats you capture via firewire...like DV, HDV and I think DVCPRO HD. HDCAM is captured via HD SDI via a capture card...so this won't work.

Well, DVCPRO 50 is comparable to digibeta. And there are the AJ-1400 and 1800 decks out there that can play back that format, as well as DVCPRO HD 720p and 1080i. Not sure if they can record DVCPRO...

Simply export a self contained file...and by simply I mean it will take a while to conform and do this as this is HDV footage. Use the Current settings, and do NOT recompress.

Just be aware that with iShowU, it doesn't record TC to the QT file...so if you edit the clip, and then export, the export DOES NOT RECOGNIZE the editing you have done...it just plays the clip, unedited (except for audio)...

IN the deck (in the 800s in the menu) set the deck to output DV. Then set FCP to the DV/NTSC EASY SETUP and then capture. That should work.
