Re: Overlaying things...help! by Mike Kujbida on Mar 25, 2008 at 12:50:36 pm in the Sony Vegas Forum #1. What format is the logo (JPEG, PNG, PSD, etc.)?
Does the logo have an alpha channel?
If yes, try right-clicking it, selecting Properties - Media and set the alpha channel to Premultiplied.
If there's no alpha channel, use the Chroma Key FX...
Hi Mike,
I finally made my purchase for my dual monitor setup. I now have the Samsung 2493HM monitor and a Samsung LN22a650
HDTV for DVD output viewing. I have both connected to my Nvidia Quadro FX3700 graphics card which has dual DVI outputs. My connection for the monitor is DVI to DVI. The connection for the HDTV is DVI to HDMI.
I have a couple questions that I hope you can answer for me.
1) Do I need to use my video camera for a pass through to my HDTV in order to view my video during editing?
OR
2) Since I can drag and drop from the monitor to the HDTV would it be better to drag and drop the video preview window from Vegas to the HDTV? By doing so, I wouldn't need to use my camera as a pass through.
3) Is one way or the other better to use for viewing quality reasons?
I'm on vacation right now, therefore I'm unable to try the above. As always Mike, you have been a great help to me in which I sincerely appreciate. Thank you, Ray
Hi Mike,
I have been using a 500GB external hard drive for capturing, storing, burning, etc. for Sony Vegas Pro 8 and DVD Architect. I used Spotted Eagles setup method found in VASST in which I went through a couple times.
The reason I am asking the following question is because when I switch to DVD Architect, my edited rendered movie for some reason is located under My Documents in my operating systems C/ hard drive.
Should have I installed the Sony Vegas Pro 8 and DVD Architect installation CD's on a differant drive other than my OS C/ hard drive? Before trying it, I would like to know if it can be done this way. I am under the impression that everything should be off the OS C/ hard drive for smooth operation. I would "appreciate" your help in regards to how you have yours set up. As always Mike, I appreciate all of your expertise. Thank you, Ray
Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply! I'm still looking for a good dual 24" LCD monitor and LCD HDTV setup. Thanks again, your input is very much appreciated. Ray
