That would be really hard to deal with in post. If you want the shots to look different- do that with your framing and color grading- not with formats.

Truth is actually the opposite. PCM audio can cause DVDs to skip because of its higher data rate and can cause unpredictable sounding playback on older DVD players. AC3 is the proper format, always.

Send 16:9 anamorphic NTSC video to DVDSP. Set track to 16:9 Letterbox. It will then appear as native 16:9 to players setup for 16:9 and 4:3 letterbox on regular TVs. All that happens automatically with anamorphic 16:9 sources.

Yeah I would pay maybe $1,000 for that much mileage- with or without a service contract. Try a counter offer- these are tough times and that camera surely is completely paid for itself. I.e. the dealer has nothing to lose...

Anytime a chapter skip is initiated by the user it automatically skips along with the currently selected audio track- there's nothing you need to do to maintain this.

Well that depends on how hard the hours were- did they use a cleaning tape regularly etc. I'd say over 1000 hours and I'd be cautious. There's a brand new DVX100 in this forum you can get for 2000 btw.
