Hi Alex, Welcome to Creative COW. You'll be able to view EX footage on your PowerBook G4 with the following minimum software requirements: Final Cut Pro v.6.0.2. You already have v.6.0.0 so do the software update. Quicktime v.7.3.1...

Go to the "Others" menu and choose the "Reset All" option. A poster back in the beginning of December had this same Auto Shutter issue and resetting the camera solved it for him. It may even solve your Auto Iris...
