Kona LS = Decklink Extreme: PCI-33 bug on G5???

I was going to buy the decklink extreme but was told that my dual 1.8 g5 that has PCI-33 slots does not work with the DL Extreme and it is a bug with my Mac. Does the Kona LS also have this problem? And is the Kona LS in the same arena as the DL extreme?

Anyhelp would be great as I have to edit a project next month and I am kinda in a panic.

The early G-5 1.8's had that 133 mhz PCI-x bus and AJA will work with it. The kona 2 will work with it too for that matter, but performace will not be good with uncompressed footage on that speed of processor. the kona LS can work with systems back to dual G-4's.

OK, So the Kona LS works with old G4s and the PCI-x G5 but does anyboby have any problems with it in the newest dual G5 1.8 that does not have PCI-x.

Also how does the Kona LS stack againsts the Decklink Extreme?

well, the KONA LS is an AJA product, so that helps ;)

the kona LS is a full featured SD card-12 bit hardware, analog, digital, great breakout box, same drivers as the kona 2. what do you need to accomplish? otherwise this turns into a pileup of trolls in this forum...

the kona LS is just about to ship, but it will work for dual 1.25s- dual 2.5's.

I don't understand what you are talkng about, when you say pilup of trolls, I think I had a good question.

Anyways one more, can I use the Kona 2 with my G5 dual 1.8 even if it does not have PCI-x. I am setting of a editing station and I want to be ready if I have to grab HD.

yeah, just not uncompressed HD footage.

Minimum KONA 2 System: Macintosh G5 dual 2GHz processors (PCI-X bus is required), with 1 GB RAM, and one or more internal SATA drives. Some early dual 1.8 GHz G5s had PCI-X busses; these will also work with KONA 2. Note: this minimum system will work with compressed DVCPRO 25, 50, and HD only. Working with uncompressed requires the recommended system shown below.
