All,
I'm capturing 10-bit from my UVW-1800 onto my array.

The problem is that the video is kinda noisy; at times, it flickers or turns b/w in certain spots of the frame

check it here:

could it be my drums in the 1800 that need cleaning? or could it be my configuration somewhere on the Kona?

i haven't cleaned the drums in about 5/6 months and never had this when i was capturing alot of 8-bit....

Specs:
kona SD
Dual g4
700Mb RAM
FCP 3.0.2

help?

[Michael Lister] "could it be my drums in the 1800 that need cleaning?"

Sure looks like it might be.

Of course, it's pretty easy to test the theory and recapture in 8bit. But if it's dirty heads the problem may not repeat itself exactly.

But no, I don't think it's a Kona card problem - if the card was having problems you'd see much more nastier artifacting.
