Since updating to FCP 4.1, QT 6.4 & Cinewave 4.03 I've been getting a lot of dropped frames and 10 second hangs on playback.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I've repaired permissions, optimised and ran DiskWarrior but to no avail.

OS 10.2.8, Dual 1.42 G4, ATTO FC2300, SANman array.

I don't think Cinewave 4.03, FCP 4.1 and QT 6.4 are recommended on any OS before 10.3...

10.2.8 is a complete dog... get Panther if all your gear is OK to run under panther.

Our second studio (not the one in my sig) has the same computer, OS & software versions as yours but we're running an ATTO UL3D and a HUGE 1.2TB Media Vault. No dropped frames even on 30 minute captures.

Well I installed Panther on our system for two days and had so many hangs and unexpected quits that I reverted the system back to Jaguar. Since then it is been very stable apart from the occassional moment when it refuses to ETT and throws up a dropped frame message. Trashing the preferences and restarting seems to cure it, but I never had it happen with FCP4.02

Anyone else seeing it?
