 | Giddy up!!!

Hello,
Have recently updated my Cinewave system with the new drivers from pinnacle.
Have updated all extras for QT/FCP and my RAID array is running the OSX drivers. Everything seems to be right.................however every time I open an application or try and find a video file on the system or do literaly anything that makes the computer think it seems to have to kick into gear each of the 4 striped drives before doing anything. All I get is a spinning rainbow ball which although very pretty, is not what I want to be seeing.
In the quest to solve this I have:
1) Wiped and Initialised the strip set
2) removed network cables.
3) Made sure all cinewave/FCP/QT and Express Stripe software is up to date
4) Opened up the computer and made sure no cards are loose
But still it keeps taking ages to do anything. This is now beggining to crash the computer and I'm worried will mess up a big job that is coming in in the next 2 weeks.
Has anyone heard of this before or got any ideas please.
I'm stuck!
Sam

This sounds like it may be a permissions or ownership issue on your media drive...
1) Highlight your media drive(s) and Get Info
2) Open the "Ownership and Permissions" submenu
3) Check the box that says "Ignore Ownership on this volume"
4) Close the Get Info window
I found that the above steps minimized the lag that you're seeing.

Could it be related to permission settings on the media drives? What type of drives and what type of host adapter if any do you use?
