Sorry for the off topic post.
The code jockeys over at DigiEffects recently resurrected Ye Olde Berserk and Ye Even Older Aurorix AE packages with a carbon port to OS10.
Media 100, bless their stone cold hearts, recently announced Ye Ancient FEC is being ported to OS10.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Image Lounge? There are several indespensible effects that I've had to learn to live without in the package.

Actually, Final Effects are already available for X, and even works under Final Cut Pro, so that's kind of neat.

What kind of awed me, though, is the Continuum effects that Artel just released for Avid, that runs in realtime. That was kind of groovy.

Bless their cotton socks...

IL went OSX way back I believe. Check out the Pinnacle plug in forum here on the Cow.

Thanks, dudes, me and Media 100 go way back, I know that FEC doesn't ship till later this year, what's left of it. Already got your copy? In addition to porting it, did the code monkeys fix any of the many broken effects?

I find no such cow forum "Pinnacle Plugin" and there are no references to any Puffin products at all on the Pinnacle Web site. Nothing in Updates, Support, or Store. It's like the entire brain trust behind Puffin just vanished.

Ah, after endless searching, I find Image Lounge is now part of the Primatte Plugin Pack. However, there is no information about OS10. In fact, there is no information at all.
Just a minute, I'll call Pinnacle and see what I can find out: They don't want to talk to anyone, no one answers the phones, you can navigate the menus but you just get told to dial a toll number at which there are no humans to answer the phones. It's eerie. Closed for the holidays?
This is one seriously f****d up company.

Toolfarm lists Image Lounge as updated but they don't sell it. I can see why.

Okie dokie, I'll try again on Monday.

Drop a line to Barry. He should be able to help you out.

Sorry, no Pinnacle plug-ins forum on the cow. It's at the "not to be mentioned" forum that just got changed into something I don't even remember the name of.

David,

Thanks for the update on my company, and all along I thought I was working for a good company.

Pinnacle does shut down for the holidays and we while we are on holiday, many of us will spend our holiday working to make the world better, freer and safer.

I will pass along your question and see if I can get an answer.

Hey, James!

Shouldn't you be helping Santa loading those OS X updates for CineWave onto a server somewhere, instead of reading silly forums like this?

I swear all of us have been really good this year, honest! Promise! Like really good, and we totally deserve it!

Rune,

I'll be checking with Ol' St. Nick as to the veracity of your statements.

Primatte Plug Ins are OSX ready.

Let's see what Andrew and the Cinewave crew can do. While we don't want to put anything out that would ruin your holiday, I'm as eager to see them released as you.

Happy Holidays,

I believe they are all X-ready. I run COmmotion Pro on OSX which includes all of the Pinnacle plugins...primatte, image lounge, composite wizard.

deadheadre: Pinnacle as a company- never seen better customer support!
by on Dec 23, 2002 at 1:16:31 pm

There was a comment earlier in this thread that Pinnacle was a f#ed up company. I don't own any other Pinnacle products than Cinewave ( so I can't comment on support for other products) but the guys at Cinewave's customer support have gone above and beyond every time- I couldn't imagine better support and would definitely buy their products again based on that.

bogiesanre: Pinnacle phone support
by on Dec 23, 2002 at 4:04:55 pm

Whatever, my impressions of Pinnacle are a direct result of my inability to contact the company during business hours and not from a long standing relationship with them.

Closed for a non-traditional stretch of time? It doesn't take much for someone, anyone, at any level of any organization to put a message on the phone system telling callers the offices are closed. Trapping one's customers into phone loops without an exit option or a leave-message option is poor planning at best, abusive at worst.

If you called my company and we treated you in the same way, I'd expect you to be royally pissed off.

Anyone can abuse me at 2083882463.
Or you can abuse me by email: dbogie@idahopower.com
