I am editing a project where I convinced the animators to use the MB codec on their PC's for AE rendering, but it seems that half the time the files back scrambled in th cinewave timeline. Half the time it plays fine. It was rendered lower field and I set the field in FCP also.

Yes - there's a big hint. I had many scrabled files when I used Dave.
I now use a win2000 server with a MAC shared dir to transfer files from the PC's to Cinewave, and have never had a problem with the BM codec. Plays realtime everytime.

FWIW, I must burn a CDRW (or CDR) to transfer PC files to Mac OS9 when producing hybrid Macromedia Director CD-ROMs because the Thursby software (DAVE, MacSoHo, etc.) messes with the PC Director files. Thursby software is good for some stuff, but not 100% perfect in maintaining file integrity.
It's reasons like this why Jaguar is a dream with true multiplatform LAN file sharing all on its own.
